Impactful and sustainable packaging design for plasters from start-up Dappr wins Gold and Silver at prestigious international design awards.
Dappr, an innovative Amsterdam-based startup, and design agency Brandnew won gold and silver at the prestigious Pentawards 2024 in London for their unique design and brand story. Dappr's sustainable bandages, designed for everyone from zero to eighty, were recognized in the packaging design and brand storytelling categories. The gold award was given for the bold and colorful design that aligns with Dappr's mission: encouraging people to embrace life through trial and error. The visual identity exudes resilience, energy, and positivity and delivers the impact Dappr was looking for. The bandages meet sustainability requirements thanks to their use of bamboo and reusable aluminum. The silver award was won for their powerful brand story.
Brand new: Innovation in design
Brandnew played a key role in Dappr's packaging development. Imre de Jongh, design director, describes the design as energetic and engaging, with bold colors and graphic elements that visually bring Dappr's story to life. Hilde Steegstra, Managing Director of Brandnew, emphasizes that the design not only has an impact on the shelf and in the market, but also creates a "want-to-have" feeling for consumers through the combination of design, unique reusable packaging, and sustainable materials. The Pentawards place Dappr alongside previous winners such as Coca-Cola and Heineken, and underscore the brand's power to redefine the bandage market.
